Dysfonction érectile John 5 - Invasion - A Review Ever since seeing John 5 and The Creatures in Ottawa a few months ago, I have been looking forward to his newest release, Invasion. John's 11th studio album comes on the heels of a lengthy North American tour and drops in the midst of his tour with Rob Zombie. If this is your first time visiting Let's Rock, I do album reviews a little differently than other sites. I lay down with the family dog, Gizmo, and listen to the album straight through, typing comments as I go. It's a first reaction 08/03/2019

Let's Rock Chats With Sammy Lee of Red Reign Sammy Lee is the drummer for Virginia-based Red Reign, whose self titled EP is making waves. Fresh off an opening slot with Winger, the band is slated to open for Tesla later in March. They've shared stages with the likes of Lita Ford, Quiet Riot, Dokken and Kix. The Ep was produced by Grammy winning producer David Ivory, who has also worked with Halestorm, Roots and Silvertide. The Red Reign sound is all their own, but if you're a fan of Van Halen, Dokken and Queensryche, you definitely 04/04/2019

Monster Truck @ Brass Monkey Ottawa Review by Paul Eastwood Photos by Ken Vantour Monster Truck roared into Ottawa for a show at the Brass Monkey on March 26th. This Hamilton quartet has been burning up the stage since their debut The Brown EP in 2012. In September of 2018 they released their third cd, True Rockers. An apt title for a hard-rocking steel town band. The mood was set for the evening by The Standstills who put on an energetic set that was very well received by a very loyal Monster Truck crowd. Not often that an 04/01/2019

Let's Rock Chats With Eric Boatright of Shallow I first heard of Shallow Side a couple years ago when I heard that they had recorded a cover version of Renegade, a song originally recorded by my favorite band, Styx. I listened to their first two EPs and really liked them. Today (March 29, 2019), their first full length album Saints & Sinners is released and let me tell you, as good as those EPs were, S&S is a serious step forward. It is an incredibly solid album, with amazing grooves, great vocal harmonies and fantastic musicianship. 03/29/2019

John 5 @ The Brass Monkey 03-22-19 - A Review Review by Paul Eastwood Photos by Ken Vantour The Brass Monkey in Ottawa hosted an absolutely face-melting show on March 22nd, 2019. Due to scheduling and freezing rain, we missed the first act of the evening, arriving midway through their last number. Too bad, they were energetic and professional. However, we witnessed a new (to us) artist by the name of Jared James Nichols. Hard rock heavily steeped in the blues, this guy is a monster musician! Leaning heavily on his 2017 release Black Magic, 03/25/2019
