  1. Welcome to Let's Rock

    Welcome to Let's Rock

Three years ago, I decided I needed a bit of break from studying for my Masters Degree.  I was living in Korea, playing in a band and getting to know a lot of musicians in my then home town of Daejeon.  I thought it would be fun to start a little Wordpress blog, interviewing my friends in the other bands in tow,  Van Walker, Nolan Riley, the boys from Guilt Kick (Matt Ross,David Robinson, Ben Mays and Evan Matthews).  Korea Guitar was born. Just to see what would happen, I sent out emails to

Mick Box and Uriah Heep Are Living The Dream

It was the summer of 1983.  My Uncle, my two cousins, my brother Rick and I headed out on a cross country drive, from Ottawa to Edmonton.  We had two cassette tapes:  Neil Diamond’s Greatest Hits and Def Leppard’s Pyromania.  It was a long trip for my uncle, who had no desire to Rock Rock til he dropped.  He survived though and got us to Edmonton on the day that Def Leppard was set to play the Northlands Coliseum.  Incredibly, my mom actually let us go to the show ($13.50, I believe was the

Eddy Clearwater Chats With Let's Rock (Part 1)

Eddy 'The Chief' Clearwater is a blues guitarist from Chicago via Macon, Mississippi.  He started playing guitar in 1950 and has shared the stage with such blues legends as Otis Rush, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and a host of others.  At the age of 83, he is still going strong with plans to play shows this summer in Europe.  He has some great stories of his first job in Chicago, getting his name, playing with some of the greats and so much more.  I hope you enjoy this little piece of Chicago

Foreigner's Tom Gimbel chats with Let's Rock

Tom Gimbel is a multi-instrumentalist (drums/piano/flute/sax/guitar/background vocals) who has been a member of the legendary Foreigner since 1995.  Before that, he was the touring sax/keyboard/backing vocalist for another legendary group: Aerosmith.  He was kind enough to give Let's Rock some time before he heads out with Foreigner for a winter tour of North America, before teaming up with Whitesnake and Jason Bonham for a summer tour and a world tour that will hit Israel, Iceland, The UK,

    Dave Starr of WildeStarr

WildeStarr is an American heavy metal band with a brand spanking new CD 'Beyond The Rain', which was released in December. Dave Starr (bass and guitar), London Wilde (vocals) and drummer Josh Foster have put together an incredible collection of tunes which 'takes the listener on a harrowing ride and emotional roller coaster." Dave Starr was the bassist in Vicious Rumors, played on Chastain's In An Outrage in 2004, and has released 3 albums as WildeStarr.  He was kind enough to answer a few

    SAXON - Thunderbolt: A review

Saxon is set to release their 22nd studio album, Thunderbolt, on February 2nd, 2018.  22!?!?  Let's think about that for a second.  The band will tour North America with heavy metal legends Judas Priest in March and April.  Judas Priest have released 18 albums since 1974.  Saxon, 22 since 1979.  That's an incredible output of music.  Vocalist Biff Byford and guitarist Paul Quinn, are the only original members remaining in the band, but the newest member, guitarist Doug Scarratt has been in the
